There are many
reasons I would recommend this book. One reason is Thomas is really relatable.
Thomas is just like most teenagers because he gets confused with love. Thomas
cannot decide if he likes Teresa or Brenda. A lot of people have to go through
this because they have to pick between a friend or a boy/girlfriend. At one
point in the book he completely forgets about Brenda and until he sees her.
Does he choose Teresa? Does he choose Brenda? Who does he choose? Find out by
reading this book. This was just one of the reasons this book is amazing.
Another reason that I think people will like this book is it will leave you in suspense after each chapter. I finished this book in 2 weeks because it left me wanting to keep reading on. You will be sitting at the edge of your seat when you read this. This book has kidnapping, battle scenes, and monsterish type things. The end of a chapter is like this: "'I just have one condition. That ratty kid who junked me on the ground? Think I heard you call him Minho?'
'Yeah?' Thomas asked in a weak voice, his heart thumping all over again.
'He dies.'" (Dashner Pg.158) That is a pretty scary ending to a chapter. The scary endings are what makes me want to read on and what makes this book good.
My third reason is that you will want the movies to be in theaters soon so you can actually see what everything looks like. It is really hard to picture some of the objects but it makes it more interesting. The first movie they are filming now and it is supposed to be as good as the books. This movie should be in theaters in 2013. A lot of people wait for the movie to come out to read the book but this is a book you should not wait for it is too wonderful the movie will be nothing like what I thought. I think fans of this book will read all 3 books and the prequel and see the movies. That is my third reason why I love this book.
The final reason is that the ending will surprise you. The ending is not what most people think it will be like and after this book you will want to read the next one too. That is the theme for The Scorch Trials. Something happens to Thomas you won’t believe and you will have to read the next book to find out. This book ends and it’s like right in the middle of something. Will all of Thomas's friends turn against him like Teresa did? Will Thomas die right then and there when he gets gassed? I was shocked by what happened. The book may be slow at parts but once you get towards the ending you will love the book and know why everything happened. This conversation was about Brenda and Jorge: "'Fine, you can keep one of 'em the other goes.'" "'Don't chose and they both die.'" (Dashner Pg.345). That is the final reason this book is so amazing.
